This article will go over how you can set up an integration that will funnel your leads generated in Facebook Lead Ads over to your Marketing Automation campaigns using Zapier. Zapier is an online tool that allows you to create integrations between different services without coding. You can set up an integration in Zapier such that when a lead is captured in Facebook, Zapier will trigger an email to be sent to your Marketing Automation lead aggregation email address.
NOTE: This will require a premium Zapier account.
Creating the Zapier Zap
To set up an integration, you'll want to login to the Zapier.com site. In the Zapier dashboard, click on the "Make a Zap!" button located at the top. This will bring up the Zap editor to set up an integration, known as a Zap in Zapier.
Setting up the Trigger Event
For the first step in this Zap called "When this happens...", you'll want to select the app and then the trigger event. In this case, you'll want to select the app "Facebook Lead Ads" and "New Lead" as the Trigger Event.
In the next step, Zapier will require you to select your Facebook Lead Ads account to connect with.
Once you've chosen your account, you will then need to select the Page associated with your Facebook Lead Ads account. You can also select the Form but this is optional.
At the end of setting up Step 1 in the Zap, it will ask if you want to perform a test to make sure the trigger works, which you can skip.
Setting up the Action Event
Now that we have set up a new lead capture in Facebook Lead Ads as the trigger event, we can then set up Zapier to send an email automatically in Step 2. To do this, you'll want to select "Email by Zapier" as the app and "Send Outbound Email" as the Action Event.
Next, you'll need to specify what address the email goes to as well as the subject of the email and the body of the email.
For the email address, you'll want to enter the lead aggregation email address that comes with your account. You won't need anything specific for the subject, but it is required. In the body of the email, you'll want to set up the information on the new lead that gets passed from Facebook to Zapier in this email so that it can get parsed properly by our lead aggregation service. Please format the email body as shown in the above screenshot with the following information:
- Email:
- Name:
- Phone:
- Comments: (Optional)
Then, next to each entry in the email, you will need to select the relevant data from Facebook. This can be done by clicking the button in the corner of the text field under Body called "Insert a Field". This will bring up a dropdown menu where you can select the Facebook data. For example, Next to where you wrote "Email:", you'll want to select "Email" from the available Facebook data fields. Do this for all the lines in the email body.
The rest of the options for setting up the email are optional. You can click "Continue" and then Zapier will ask you to perform another test if you want, which you can skip and that will complete the Zap. You have now set up an integration in which whenever a new lead is entered through Facebook, Zapier sends an email with information about that new lead to your iHomefinder lead aggregation email address. You can then set up an Automation Rule to route them into one of your Marketing Automation campaigns.
